About us
New Beginnings opened its doors to the public in April of 2007. What began as an annual rummage sale to support YouMedical, formerly Tri Cities Pregnancy Network, quickly turned into the thrift store we are today. In the spring of 2007, the rummage sale was forced indoors due to poor weather, and through the generosity and help of many, we transitioned into a full fledged store at 1016 Lee Boulevard. In 2008, we began our second partnership with Domestic Violence Services.
In January of 2010, we expanded our Richland location, acquiring the space next door, which more than doubled our square footage. This expansion resulted in our clothing side being moved into the space next door. We operated for many years at our Richland location without many changes, but in 2019, we began updating store fixtures to offer a better shopping experience for our customers, and we have continued those changes so that we can provide our customers with the best experience. In the summer of 2024, we completed an exterior remodel, updating our storefront.
In June of 2023, we began the exciting endeavor of opening our second location in downtown Kennewick, in the historic Basin Department Store on 1st Avenue. We opened officially in August of 2023, and we were overwhelmed with the support we received from our customers. Our second location is proud to partner with and support two worthy causes: Mirror Ministries and Navigators First Responder Ministry.
We are proud to be able to give back to our community through financial giving and partnerships, and we hope to continue to do so for many years to come.
